This was shot as a response to Will Cohu’s book Out Of The Woods about trees in their winter forms. I found it fascinating in its ability to show me the landscape in a new way. The winter silhouettes that lined the sides of the motorway or hilltop hedgerows took on a new interest and beauty and I was inspired to photograph them.
