After reading Robert Preston’s The Wild Trees I decided to get off the ground and take my camera up into trees themselves. My experience as a climber and tree surgeon gave me access to a whole new world that exists just above our heads. The trees that I am climbing may not be on the same scale as the redwoods in The Wild Trees but the sense of entering an untrodden and wild world is still there. To find this wilderness so close to my home has been both exciting and nourishing and I feel that I have just scratched the surface of where this work can go.
